Nicene McNeil received her bachelor's degree in English with a minor in African American Literature from the University of Akron in 2016. She received her master's degree In English: Writing and Literature from Kent State University in 2020. Her research interests are Critical Race Theory and Black Feminist Thought. Her intense love of reading, writing, and teaching Black literature drives her to pursue her doctoral degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She is excited to further the conversation surrounding what it means to show up in the world as a Black woman.
